Kim is a Partner with Raffa and has served the nonprofit industry exclusively for 27 years with a focus on community based organizations, trade associations, international organizations, military organizations, performing arts organizations, private and charter schools, museums and private foundations. Kim has been a Partner at Raffa for 16 years and helps to oversee the audit department, including quality control, recruiting, training and practice development.

Kim is an instructor of nonprofit accounting, auditing and procedures required under OMB Circular A-133. In addition, she has assisted nonprofit organizations in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, assisted in the development of cost allocation plans, developed indirect cost rate proposals and submissions, and performed internal control reviews. She has performed organizational assessments, facilitated strategic planning sessions, and has assisted clients in cost-versus-benefit analyses.

In addition to audit, tax, and consulting engagements, Kim has been a seminar presenter for the AICPA, the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Grants Management Association, the National Council on Nonprofits and other nonprofit organizations. Kim has also written articles for ASAE’s Association Law & Policy and Dollars & Cents pertaining to the nonprofit industry.

Prior to joining Raffa, Kim was a Senior Manager at a Washington, DC CPA firm that served primarily nonprofit organizations. She was responsible for the planning, performance and review of many of the firm’s nonprofit audit, tax and consulting engagements and chaired the firm’s OMB Circular A-133 committee.

Kim is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia. She is a member of the AICPA, the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA), ASAE and a former member of the National Association of Black Accountants. She is a member of ASAE’s Finance and Administration Section and GWSCPA’s Not-for-Profit Committee. Kim is a graduate of the University of Maryland and is the Board Chair of Fort Washington Medical Center. Kim is also the Chair of the Maryland Lottery & Gaming Control Commission. She also is a member of the Regional Policy Board of the American Hospital Association and served as the Treasurer of the Higher Achievement Program for almost a decade. Lastly, Kim is a member of the editorial board of The Nonprofit Audit Guide, a resource established by the National Council of Nonprofits and is a member of the Leadership Greater Washington Class of 2014.
