Alex is a manager in the Nonprofit Practice, bringing several years of public and nonprofit industry accounting experience to the nonprofit sector. He specializes in providing audit, tax, and business advisory services to a diverse range of associations, foundations, and other exempt organizations. With extensive knowledge of business operations and financial statements within the nonprofit industry, Alex is well equipped to address the unique challenges faced by these organizations.


In the role of engagement manager, he oversees all phases of audit work, including the supervision of associates, planning, fieldwork, and financial reporting for numerous high-profile organizations. Alex frequently consults with clients on emerging accounting principles and audit standards and is responsible for developing written communications for governance. In addition, he is a prolific writer and speaker, contributing regularly to nonprofit accounting blogs and leading learning sessions.


Alex is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, actively involved with the Greater Washington Society of CPAs (GWSCPA), where Alex serves on the Nonprofit Basics Task Force Committee and contributes as an author. He also participates in The Associated General Contractors (ACG) of America Audit Committee (Governance).


Some of his past speaking and writing highlights include presenting at multiple GWSCPA Nonprofit Symposiums and Finance & Accounting Academy sessions on topics such as nonprofit financial reporting, financial sustainability, and significant estimates. Alex has also contributed to conferences like MACPA Converge and virtual sessions for the Maryland Association of Community Services, focusing on nonprofit accounting standards and budgeting challenges. In addition, Alex has authored articles offering insights into governance, professional certifications, and nonprofit financial statement disclosures.
Alex is a magna cum laude graduate of George Washington University’s School of Business, with a B.S.-Accy. degree.
