Shawn H. Miller, CPA, CFE

Shawn H. Miller, CPA, CFE, is in the audit and accounting department of the Washington, DC office of Calibre CPA Group. He has been in public accounting since 1994.
Shawn has significant public accounting experience in the specialized field of tax exempt organizations including labor unions, employee benefit funds, charitable entities, trade and professional associations, and advocacy groups. He is responsible for all aspects of client service and engagement management including engagement budgeting, supervision of staff personnel, preparation of financial statements, tax filings and informational returns including Forms 990, 990-T, LM-2, LM-30, 5500, and others. He has performed numerous audits in accordance with OMB Uniform Guidance for organizations receiving Federal Awards and has an intimate knowledge of government grant administrative requirements and cost principles. Shawn has also performed several fraud investigations, internal control reviews, operational audits, and reviews in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Additionally, after passing a rigorous test and attending over 50 hours of classroom training, Shawn became a Certified Fraud Examiner in 2003.
Besides handling the needs of his clients, Shawn serves on the firm’s technology committee and CPE committee and was responsible for designing, implementing and teaching much of the firm’s continuing education program.
Shawn received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting through the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Maryland. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA), and serves on the GWSCPA Not-for-Profit Financial Accountability Task Force. Shawn is also a member of the finance committee of Shaare Tefilah.
